  NEWSPAPER – Read a Spanish-language newspaper for 30 min. (may be online, also available at Mexican restaurants & tiendas). Summarize the main idea of the articles you perused in your own words in Spanish and pick out key lines from each article to interpret.

      WIKIPEDIA – Read an article about a famous Latino musician, athlete, or politician in Spanish on Wikipedia es.wikipedia.org. Summarize the main idea of the sections you perused in your own words in Spanish and pick out key lines from each section to interpret.

    TRANSLATED TEXT – Read in Spanish a familiar chapter from a book you’ve read in English. List new vocabulary you figured out from context and choose several lines to interpret.

      E-BOOKS – Go to Many Books’ Spanish Ebooks section at & browse through at least 10 books to find 2 you might like to read and explain why in your own words in written or recorded Spanish.

        PICTURE BOOK – Record yourself reading a picture book in Spanish and include a summary of the main events of the story in your own words in Spanish.

        BOOK STORE – Explore the Spanish-language section of a bookstore (music, kids’ books, and/or adult books) for 30 minutes & find 2 things you would like to own. Explain what you like about your selections in your own words in written or recorded Spanish.

          WISHLIST – Create a wishlist of at least 10 items on Amazon Spain (Amazon.es)

            INFOGRAPH – Find an infograph related to your Passion and explain what you find useful and interesting in it.

              ADS – Find ads in a Spanish language magazine and pick out key words and phrases to interpret, explaining why you would or would not buy the products/services advertised.

                Viewing
                TV – Watch television in Spanish for 30 min (try Hulu Latino if you don’t have cable). Summarize what you saw and list key words and phrases you heard, as well as what you think they mean.

                  NEWS CLIPS – Watch 3 video clips on sports AND 3 video clips on current news on Univision.com. Summarize what you saw and list key words and phrases you heard, as well as what you think they mean.

                    KIDS’ STORIES – Search for a “cuento infantil” on YouTube and listen to the whole video to summarize what you saw and list key words and phrases you heard, as well as what you think they mean..

                      COMMERCIALS – Watch 5 Spanish language commercials on YouTube. Summarize what you saw and list key words and phrases you heard, as well as what you think they mean.

                        PASSION – Find a video related to your Passion and pick out key words and phrases from a two to three-minute segment, then summarize the main idea of that segment and list key words and phrases you heard, as well as what you think they mean.

                          TUTORIAL – Find a how-to video on something you would like to learn how to do (and have the resources to actually do), then follow the instructions. List key words and phrases you learned.
